Impact we generate
Since our opening in December 2021, we have generated a significant impact in our country.
Decentralization of children’s health: We have provided more than 75,000 cares to children and families from remote regions of the south of the country, without them having to travel to Lima. Many of them come from rural areas with difficult access to health services.
Emblematic work of Peru: We are the leading non-profit social organization in the decentralization of children’s health. We work together with the State to decentralize medical services and bring specialized care closer to those who need it most.
Reduction of late diagnoses: With the inauguration of our Cancer Prevention Center, in alliance with INEN, we will be able to make timely diagnoses of oncological diseases in children, which will allow many to receive timely treatment.
Replicable and sustainable model: We have become the genuine example of effective decentralization. Our Children’s Health Citadel demonstrates that this model can be replicated in other regions of Peru and the world, bringing health and hope where it is most needed.
Strategic alliances: Although we do not yet address cases of high complexity, we have managed to bring essential medical services closer to thousands of families, reducing transfers to the capital. Alliances with companies and institutions allow us to refer complex cases and ensure continuity of care. Together, we weave a solidarity network that leaves no child behind.
High-quality physical rehabilitation: We have the only complete pediatric rehabilitation therapy center outside of Lima, providing specialized care to children with motor, neurological and post-operative needs. Each recovery process symbolizes a story of overcoming and life.
Humanized health model: Our comprehensive approach transcends the medical: we accompany families facing difficult times with emotional care, lodging and food. At VIDAWASI, health is lived with dignity, empathy and love for others.
